Welcome
Welcome production car racing fans to the official Australian Manufacturers Championship website.
The heritage of production car racing, at Australia's premier permanent racetrack venues continues with the 2012 "AMC", Australia's only CAMS/FIA sanctioned championship for production car racing.
Teams and drivers will push standard cars that are seen on Australia's roads, to breaking point on the racetrack. Finishing a race in a standard production car requires speed & endurance that will test teams ability to plan, engineer, adapt and deliver on the day.
Winning means doing all these things a little better than the rest. We hope you enjoy following the 2012 Australian Manufacturers Championship.

The BMW 335i of Nathan Morcom and Chaz Mostert has won the Eastern Creek 6 Hour Production Car race at the west Sydney circuit on Sunday December 11. The team took out the final round of the VIP Petfoods Australian Manufacturers Championship by a scant 8.8 seconds over the Team Mitsubishi Ralliart Lancer Evo X of Stuart Kostera and Inky Tulloch.Mostert’s drive in the wet set the tone for victory as he outpaced and passed the four wheel drive Mitsubishi opposition while its longer fuel runs also played into the BMW strategy.
“It’s great to back from the US for a race win first up,” Morcom said and then praised his co-driver’s performance. “I was pretty nervous watching from the pits, but Chaz’s drive in the wet was awesome.”
Four tyre failures plagued the TMR Evo of Kostera and Tulloch who then had to lean off late to conserve fuel, “There would be lucky to be a litre in it at the end,” said TMR boss Alan Heaphy.
The early race leaders, Klark and Tony Quinn lost pace and finished a lap down in their VIP Petfoods Evo 9 with the similar car of Dylan and David Thomas on the same lap. Five laps behind them was the Subaru Impreza of Cam Wilson/Peter Burnitt/David Wood which lost third gear for the second half of the race.
Sixth was the Mazda 3 MPS of Hadrian Morrall/Adam Dodd which was also the victor in Class C. Michael Sherrin and David Ayres finished two positions further back and took out Class I in their Mini Cooper JCW, having passed the Class D winning Honda Integra of Jake Williams/Todd Betland for eighth with less than ten minutes to go.
The hard luck story of the race would lay with the Evo 9 of Jim Pollicina/Dean Lillee/Steve Cramp which had masterly gained the lead of the race through pitstop calls during a safety car period and was in the business of consolidating when it lost a right front wheel. They recovered to finish 7th.
The race for Class E winning honours went right down to the wire between the Suzuki Swift of Allan Jarvis/Adam Brand/Rob Jarvis and the Proton Satria of Grant Phillips/Andrew Turpie/Daryl Martin with several position changes between the pair before the Swift took 12th outright just 2.5 seconds ahead. In scraping home in 15th place Matt McGill (with Geoff Brunsdon) was able to claim the Class D overall crown – the only one that need to be decide this weekend.
The six hour race featured nine lead changes, and a thunderous downpour just past the halfway point, which triggered one of five safety cars. Crashes put paid to the Greg Syme/Glen Seton Evo 9 when it hit the BMW of Grant and Iain Sherrin putting it out as well. Aquaplaning on the sodden circuit, the Suzuki of Brendon Cook (sharing with Brook Leech) smacked the concrete heavily on the main straight near the start/finish line.
Then mechanical problems cost others dearly. Colin Osborne and Rick Bates did not make the start after the alternator died, the Beric Lynton/Tom Pickett Mini didn’t get off the line and just after the start the pole sitting Evo 9 of David and Des Wall had a turbo boost problem but later set the fastest lap of the race.
Jake Camilleri and Scott Nicolas had a fuel related engine miss in their usually reliable Mazda. Also having problematic days, punctuated with mechanical issues were the Falcon XR6 of Graeme Lusty/Matt Brady/Darryl Dixon and the Trevor Keene/Phil Alexander/Graeme Heath Mini.
All that action from the Eastern Creek 6 Hour will be seen on Speedweek/Inside Speed screening at a time to be advised – on SBS and Fox’s Speed TV.AUSTRALIAN MANUFACTURERS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND FIVE ENTRY

FIRST ENDURO FOR NEW LAYOUT
Written by administrator Thursday, 08 December 2011 13:43
The final rounds of the Australian Manufacturers Championship and the Australian Production Car Endurance Championship will be a jump into the unknown for the entire 22-car field at Eastern Creek this Sunday December 10 as the new 2.8km North Circuit is used for the first time for an enduro.Champion elect and hot favourite to win the Eastern Creek 6, Hour Stuart Kostera thinks it will level out the performance of the fast cars somewhat. “With the drivers’ part of the original circuit not included, I would say that I and (co-driver) Inky Tulloch will lose some of our advantage,” Kostera said. “Our car really only looks fast on the straights because we get off the tighter corners so well.”
The Kostera/Tulloch Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, fettled by Team Ralliart Australia, has won every round of the AMC this year, although the team did get a scare when placed fifth in the opening leg of the two-part Sandown 500 before coming through to win the second part.
In the battle for both Class A and outright honours they are up against a formidably strong pack of five Evo 9s and the lone Subaru Impreza of Cam Wilson/Peter Burnitt/David Wood which was the fastest qualifier at the last round. The Evo 9s will be strong opposition with the likes of Des and David Wall, Tony and Klark Quinn, David and Dylan Thomas, Greg Symes and Glen Seton, as third overall Jim Pollicina who has Dean Lillee and Steve Cramp helping out.
The Class B BMWs can also be counted as outright contenders with Barry and Nathan Morcom conscripting the talented Chaz Mostert to help their 335i’s chances against the quick 135i of Grant and Iain Sherrin. Similarly in Class C with the Mazda 3s of Jake Camilleri/Scott Nicolas taking on the Osborne Motorsport Mazdas of Colin Osborne/Rick Bates and Hadrian Morrall/Adam Dodd, and the Falcon XR6 of Graham Lusty/Matt Brady/Darryl Dixon.
Only in Class D is there any possibility, remote as it is, of Matt McGill not taking the laurels. He has a two-point margin on team mate Geoff Brunsdon and only young Jake Williams who is in Terry Conroy’s Honda Integra, has a distant chance – if the cards fall just right. They also have to be mindful of the Trevor Keene Mini Cooper S where Graeme Alexander and Graeme Heath are sharing, and the Integra of Australian GT Champion Mark Eddy and Francois Jouy.
Class E sees two Suzukis (Rob Jarvis with fellow former V8 Ute racer, renowned singer Adam Brand, and Allan Jarvis with Brendon Cook) from the Swift Racing Series – sticking around from their last round for another six hours or so, to take on the class winning Proton Satria of Grant Phillips/Andrew Trupie/Daryl Martin.
There should be plenty of rivalry in Class I with the ex-Mini Challenge entries of Beric Lynton/Tom Pickett and David Sherrin/Michael Ayres expected to be closely matched and ready to repeat what these Minis put on at Sandown.
There will be two qualifying sessions at 3.00pm and 4.25pm on Saturday December 10 while the Eastern Creek 6 Hour begins at 10.02am on Sunday December 11. All that action can be seen on Speedweek screening at a time to be advised on both SBS and Speed TV on Fox, as well as on ITVlive.com.au with updates on Facebook and Twitter (@2011_AMC) across the weekend.
